Privacy Policy
The short version
- No account. You never sign up, so we don't have your name, email, or password.
- Your logs live on your phone. Profile, meals, workouts, and weigh-ins are stored on your device, not on our servers.
- AI features send only what they need. When you snap a meal, describe a meal, or chat with Big G, that content goes through our server to an AI provider to get you an answer. We don't keep it.
- Health and app-lock data stay on your phone. Big G Lock reads your steps and activity, and locks the apps you pick, entirely on your device.
- No ads. No selling data. No tracking SDKs.
This policy explains how Newron Robotics, LLC ("we", "us") handles information when you use the GainzGPT mobile apps for iOS and Android (the "App") and this website. If something here is unclear, email privacy@gainzgpt.com.
1. What stays on your device
Everything you enter to set up and use the App is stored locally on your phone:
- Your profile: first name (optional), age, sex, height, weight, goal, experience level, training style and equipment, diet preference, appetite, units, and whether you've turned on GLP-1 Muscle Mode.
- Your meals, protein and calorie totals, workouts, sets, weigh-ins, weekly check-ins, streaks, and settings.
- Your chat history with Big G.
We can't see this data. It isn't synced to a cloud account. If you delete the App, it's gone (your phone's own backup, such as iCloud or Google device backup, may keep a copy under that service's terms).
2. What leaves your device, and why
Some features need an AI model to work. When you use them, the App sends a request to the GainzGPT server (a small proxy we run on Cloudflare). The proxy forwards it to the services below and sends the answer back. It does not store the content of your requests.
| Feature | What's sent | Who processes it |
|---|---|---|
| Snap a meal | The meal photo you take or pick (downscaled), plus any correction you type | Cloudflare Workers AI (running Meta's open Llama model) to identify foods and portions, with Anthropic (Claude) as a backup if that fails; USDA FoodData Central receives food names only (e.g. "grilled chicken") to look up nutrition |
| Describe a meal | The text you type (e.g. "two eggs and toast") | Cloudflare Workers AI (Llama), with Anthropic (Claude) as a backup |
| Coach chat with Big G | Your message, recent messages in the chat, and context so Big G can give a useful answer: first name, goal, protein and calories remaining today, today's workout, weight trend, experience, equipment, diet and appetite preference, units, whether GLP-1 Muscle Mode is on, and (in that mode) a short daily check-in summary you've entered | Anthropic (Claude) |
| All of the above | A random install ID (not linked to your identity) and standard network data such as your IP address | Cloudflare, to run the proxy and enforce daily usage limits |
Retention. We don't store your photos, meal text, or messages. The only thing our server keeps is a usage counter keyed to the random install ID, which deletes itself automatically within two days. Our server may log basic error information (for example, which feature failed) without the content of your request. Meal estimates run on Cloudflare Workers AI, which hosts Meta's open Llama model on Cloudflare's own servers; your data isn't sent to Meta, and Cloudflare doesn't use it to train models. Coach chat, and meal estimates whenever the backup is needed, go to Anthropic under its commercial API terms, which don't allow it to train models on this data by default. Anthropic may keep requests for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring under its own policies.
Health-related information. Some of what you send, like your goal, weight trend, or GLP-1 Muscle Mode check-in, can relate to your health. It's sent only to answer the request you just made and is never used for advertising.
If you'd rather not send anything, you can still log meals by hand and follow your plan. The AI features are the only ones that send content off your device.
3. What we don't do
- No accounts, no email collection in the App.
- No advertising, ad IDs, or ad networks.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We don't sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We don't read Apple Health or Google Health Connect data. The App doesn't connect to them.
4. Payments
Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. They handle your payment details; we never see your card number. The App receives only a confirmation of whether your subscription or trial is active.
5. Camera, photos, health data, app locking, and notifications
- Camera / photos: used only when you choose to snap or pick a meal photo. Only the photo you select is sent, as described above.
- Health data (Big G Lock, optional): if you turn on Big G Lock with a steps or active-minutes goal, the App reads today's step count and exercise minutes from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). It only reads, never writes, and it only uses these numbers on your device to decide whether your goal is met. Health data never leaves your phone, is never sent to our server or any AI provider, and is never used for advertising.
- App locking (Big G Lock, optional): on iOS, Apple's Screen Time framework lets you choose apps to lock. Apple gives the App anonymous tokens for those apps, not their names or your usage history. On Android, an Accessibility service checks only which app is opening so it can show the lock screen. It doesn't read what's on your screen, what you type, or anything inside other apps. None of this leaves your phone. You can turn Big G Lock off anytime in Settings.
- Notifications: reminders (like a protein check-in or a trial-ending reminder) are scheduled on your device. We don't run a push server and don't receive a push token.
6. This website
gainzgpt.com is a static site hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. It uses no cookies and no analytics. Like any web host, Google may process standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site.
7. Your choices and rights
Because your data stays on your device, you're in control of it: edit or delete entries in the App, or delete the App to remove everything. We don't hold a copy of your profile or logs, so there's nothing on our side to export or delete beyond the short-lived usage counter described above.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your personal information, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email privacy@gainzgpt.com and we'll help. Where GDPR applies, we process the content you send to AI features to provide the feature you asked for (performance of a contract) and run usage limits and security based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and abuse-free. Health-related details are processed only when you choose to include or send them.
8. Where data is processed
Our service providers (Cloudflare, Anthropic, the USDA, Apple, Google) may process requests in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Security
All traffic between the App, our server, and our providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Our AI provider keys are kept on the server, never in the App.
10. Children
GainzGPT is meant for adults and isn't directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used AI features, contact us.
11. Changes
If we change how data is handled, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Big changes, like adding accounts or new data sharing, will also be shown in the App before they apply.
